What is Templett?

Templett is a platform that allows user's to create fully editable printable items (or items that can be used digitally) to sell on several platforms. Creators can design these editable templates for customers to purchase and edit. Once a product is sold, customers are provided their template in multiple formats to do as they wish.

How does Templett work?

You, as the seller, create your template within the workspace. You then provide the template on your preferred selling platform. When a customer purchases your template, they will receive an email with an access link. The access link will take them to a page where they can create their account. The account allows the user to save and edit their work and to come back later if they don't finish up. Once the account is setup, the customer can click on their template and begin to edit the areas provided.

As a seller, once a customer begins editing, you have the ability to see their purchase and assist where needed. You can also create "demo areas" where potential customers can try out Templett to see if it is a good fit for them before purchasing.

Keep in mind, Templett is browser based and users who purchase templates cannot edit them on their phones.

How do you design in Templett?

Templett allows sellers to create templates using many different sizes and types. You can add text, design elements (images, svgs, backgrounds ect) and lay them out how you'd wish. Elements and text can be locked on the template so they cannot be moved, if so desired. There are several different types of templates sellers can use when creating designs.

What is the Pricing?

The pricing to join Templett as a seller is broken down into 3 plans.

Starter

The starter plan is a good choice for someone who is just beginning to sell templates to see if it is the right fit for them. Once you make a decision to get serious about the business aspect, it is recommended to upgrade.

  • $9 per month
  • No Customer Demo Support
  • No Related Products Promotion
  • No Additional Designer Accounts
  • Full Customer Service Support
  • $0.79 transaction fee

Essential

If you're selling at a lower volume, the Essential plan is a great start, giving you everything you need for a fairly low price point. You also have the ability to add in a customer demo option, whereas the starter plan did not provide that.

  • $29 per month
  • Customer Demo Support
  • No Related Products Promotion
  • No Additional Designer Accounts
  • Full Customer Service Support
  • $0.49 transaction fee

Professional

If you're super serious about your business and have grown to be known, the Professional plan is your best option. They also provide the ability to add another designer to the account if you'd like to hire someone to help create other templates for sale. You also have the ability to show related products when someone purchases your template.

  • $99 per month
  • Customer Demo Support
  • Related Products Promotion
  • One Additional Designer Accounts
  • Full Customer Service Support
  • $0.39 transaction fee

Are there Fees?

As stated above, depending on your plan you will be charged a transaction fee. Keep in mind, the platform you sell on will also have fees associated with it as well. This should help you base your price to ensure you are making a decent profit off of your work.

How can I sell my work?

Templett integrates with Etsy, Shopify and Wordpress, making selling a breeze. The platform you choose is really dependent on what you're looking to do. Etsy can generate traffic for you, but it is quite competitive. Shopify and Wordpress are self-hosted e-Commerce platforms where you will need to drive your own traffic. Depending on your level of business, i.e. if you're just starting out or have a following, you want to choose the platform that's appropriate for you. I always recommend starting with Etsy and then working your way up to a self-hosted platform so your eggs aren't all in one basket.
